摘要

IMPLEMENTING cutting edge technology and knowledge of niche markets has been a successful formula for aquaculturists in Florida, USA, and this looks like continuing with the help of the state's R&D organisations. The Mote Marine Laboriatory, located i n Satasota, is one of those giving the industry a helping hand. It recognises aquacul-ture's inevitable importance as an economic, environmental and political factor in future - US and-global food production. Mote's Center for Aquaculture Research and De velopment (CARD) is developing innovative technologies to advance aquaculture development, as well as support and expand stock enhancement research.
