The Scottish School of Forestry at Inverness College UHI (University of the Highlands and Islands) is on the hunt for new hosts for student placements after receiving a high number of applications from people seeking to train at the centre.Established in the 1970s, the Scottish School of Forestry is the principal institution for forestry and arboriculture training and education in Scotland. As such it has developed an excellent reputation for the development of forestry management professionals in both the private and public sectors. It has also been part of the Erasmus/Socrates Programme since 1992, through which it has built direct links with over 17 leading forestry institutions throughout Europe.Each year, the school provides higher and further education to around150 students at its base in Balloch, Inverness. Inverness College UHI enjoys an excellent relationship with the industries it serves, and through the Scottish School of Forestry, the College works closely with key organisations including FC Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage and Scottish Woodlands Ltd.
