Opportunities for forestry in England

Confor members will be aware that the England Woodland Grant Scheme is changing, with a number of grants suspended and new administrative arrangements being introduced. The cause of these changes - the move from one period of EU funding to another - is also behind the current hiatus in grants for equipment, machinery and infrastructure in the farming and forestry sectors. During the last EU Financial Framework (2007 - 2013), millions of pounds were allocated to a wide range of projects in the forestry sector, from the purchase of forest harvesters to the marketing of wild venison.
