Since his appointment as the Science Correspondent to The Filtration Society, Dr Graham Rideal has agreed to write the occasional article of topical interest to readers of FILTRATION. He has for some time taken a keen interest in the role of filtration in the environment and has already written several reviews. In the first of his letters, he writes on a recent adventure to Northern Canada with one of the UK's top sur-vivalist experts, Ray Mears, to investigate the impact of hydroelectric power on the environment.
