Greenhouse and field studies were carried out in Germany with tomatoes (cv. Vanessa) artificially infected with Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato. Plants were treated with Myco-Sin (plant extract + aluminium oxide), Bion (benzothiadiazole), BlightBan(Pseudomonas fluorescens), Menno Florades (benzoic acid), and copper. Greenhouse plants were treated on 30 September 1997 (2 days before infection), while field tomatoes were sprayed 5 times during May-June 1998. Results showed that copper treatments were most effective, while Myco-Sin and low rates of Bion were promising.
