Saudi Arabia boosted wellhead production and drew on its inventories in April to supply in excess of 10 million b/d of crude to markets, including at home where rising summer temperatures are driving up liquid feedstock requirements from power plants, data from the Joint Organizations Data Initiative (Jodi) shows. Opec’s top exporter raised wellhead production to an average 9.946 million b/d in April, up 46,000 b/d versus March but down 65,000 b/d against February levels, the new data published Monday show. The kingdom keeps overdelivering on its promise to cut output to 10.058 million b/d from Jan. 1 under Opec’s deal with non-Opec producers to curb production in a bid to accelerate oil market rebalancing and bolster prices.
