A new idea in Original Oil Water Contact (OOWC) reconstruction for mature oil fields - an example from the Terbang Field

'Terbang' field is located in the north- ern part of Central Sumatra Basin, Indonesia and was discovered in 1971. Some 49 wells have been penetrated in 14 oil reservoirs from three different geological formations (Bekasap, Bangko and Menggala) and produce 'Sumatra Light Oil' by using primary recovery. Some 141,407 MMSTB of oil has been booked for the OOIP (Original Oil in Place) value by a service company in 2007. The recovery factor in 'Terbang' field still reached 34,36% (based on November 2013 accumulation produc- tion) but the value of water cut average from all the wells has reached 97.6%.
