Joint inversion of multi-component seismic data for reservoir characterization of an offshore Campos Basin field, Brazil

Athree-dimensional (3D), four-component (4C) ocean bottom survey (OBS) seismic was acquired over a deep-water turbidite sandstone reservoir in the Campos Basin, Brazil. Acquisition of this OBS survey enabled the use of acoustic (PP) and the shear (PS), or converted wave, post-stack seismic data to enhance reservoir characterization. A joint inversion of the PP and PS data was conducted using post-stack data.
