Community forest values: Implications for biosecurity management in New Zealand

As part of the work to fulfil New Zealand's Montreal Process' obligations, a research-based consultation programme was undertaken to identify values that New Zealander's hold for their local forests. Twelve participatory workshops were held with invited forest users and staff from regulatory authorities, representing around 35 different organisations. The workshop methods were consistent, using qualitative methods and produced comparable results.
