Third, according to the explanation provided by the authors, the orientation of skin pieces was not considered in the ease of use. In in uitro conditions, the nutrition supply to tissue explants by the media is not problematic. For in uiuo studies, the skin explant orientation can become very important. In our experience with microskin application, the correct microskin orientation on the wound bed facilitates better take and re-epithelialisation. The structure of electro-spun scaffolds is very compact with a mean pore size of 20 jjim, which could hinder the delivery of nutrition from the wound bed to the tissue pieces. Moreover, the condensed structure may have a limited ability to provide enough space for tissue infiltration, formation and even vascularisation. In addition, liquid collection below the electrospun scaffolds should be given more attention.
