Trimet commissions new horizontal continuous casting unit

In October 2015 Trimet Aluminium SE began operating a new horizontal continuous casting (HCC) unit, whose run-up phase was completed at the turn of the year. Since the beginning of 2016 the plant has been working in regular operation under full load, i.e. with a monthly production rate of around 5,000 tonnes of primary aluminium casting. Together with two new melting furnaces and the necessary infrastructure measures Trimet has invested some ten million euros in the plant as a whole. This extension by a second HCC unit responds to the growing demand for smelter casting alloys.
