摘要

In most common underground mining operations all extracted ore is transported to the surface. Especially in the field of low-grade commodities a major part of moved mass is non-valuable minerals. The opportunity arises to separate the valuable mineral from the barren mass stream at an early stage. Studies have shown that many mines show large proportions of dilution, thus liberation is sufficient for waste rejection in coarse particle sizes. This leads to cost savings along the process chain with regard to rising energy prices and increasing deposit depth and to increased productivity through existing production facilities.
