With countries such as the UK, Germany, Italy and, more importantly, the US heading for a recession, it's hard to look to the New Year with confidence. However, on the whole, we here in Australia are not in recession and don't appear to be heading down that path. Sure our inflation rate is up at around 5 per cent and consumer confidence is shaken, but we appear to be better off than those countries mentioned above. Now some of you, depending on where you're situated around the country, could be facing some boom or bust times during the summer months but my advice is to take some time out and plan to pick-up some wine bargains if you have the time to research and the money to invest. The one good thing about investing in wines for your business is that time is on your side and you can cellar the wine for a rainy day.
