Seattle food safety attorney Bill Marler announced Thursday that he was prepared to add Stewart Parnell, the Peanut Corporation of America's CEO and owner, to his multiple lawsuits filed against the company. That is, if Parnell doesn't file for personal bankruptcy protection first. There are at least eight separate law suits filed against PCA since it was first linked to the Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak, which is now blamed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for making 654 people sick in 44 states and killing nine. Marler and Pat Flynn, an Albany, Ga.-based attorney, account for six of the suits, all of which are filed in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Georgia, and are expected to file more.
