Japanese parliament passes new GMO law

摘要

Japanese parliament has passed a bill regulating the use of genetically modified organisms. The GMO usage law,expected to take effect next year,is aimed at protecting biological diversity from the potential risks posed by GMOs and provides Japan with a legal framework to ratify the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety.
