German herbicide contamination scare widens to conventional farms

German Agriculture Minister Renate Kuenast told parliament last week that animal feed contaminated with the carcinogenic herbicide nitrofen might have been used for three years rather than just six months,and might have been used on conventional as well as organic farms (see FCN,June 3,Page 15).
