DuPont hails regulatory progress of 'refuge in the bag'

DuPont has taken heart from an EPA Scientific Advisory Panel report on its Optimum AcreMax insect protection system, which supports the first-ever corn rootworm integrated "refuge in the bag."Integrated refuge in the bag is significant to American farmers because it simplifies corn rootworm refuge deployment and guarantees compliance, DuPont says in a May 7 news release. Currently corn growers are required to plant "structured refuges" - plots of corn that don't use in-plant protection technology adjacent to corn acres that do.
