Conflicting rulings and decrees governing the commercialization ofbiotech corn in Argentina and Brazil are creating a climate of uncertainty for farmers planning to buy transgenic seeds. Brazil's National Technical Commission for Biosafety (CTNBio) approved commercial sales of Liberty Link corn seeds from Bayer in May, and the decision generated a predictable storm or protests from biotech opponents (see FCNMay 28, Page 7).
