The Australian food regulator's chief scientist and two other international experts have advised Hong Kong's new food safety committee on how to improve its safety record. The committee, which was set up in September to advise the nation-state on its food laws and other matters, examined ways of applying a risk analysis approach to regulatory decision making, agreed on the need for a review of current regulations and decided to create a mechanism to find which regulations need updating as a priority.
