High prices for Australian GM-free canola may not last

High premiums fetched by conventional Australian canola on international markets may be a flash in the pan, according to a market analyst. The Western Australian state government recently claimed that because Australian GM-free canola prices are now exceeding Canadian GM canola prices by A＄80 a ton, the state's GM-free stance is justified (see FCN Sept. 18, Page 8).
