China investigation of poultry 'dumping' unjustified, industry says

China announced last week that it was investigating U.S. importers to determine if they were "dumping" poultry products on the Chinese market, a move that is being met with a heavy dose of criticism from the National Chicken Council (NCC) and USA Poultry and Egg Exporters Council (USAPEEC).NCC, which reports to represent companies responsible for 95% of the poultry products sold in the U.S., issued a statement Sept. 14 saying the trading practices of U.S. poultry exporters are normal and called the investigation "unjustified."
