U.S. hopes to keep food safety focus of Codex task force

The United States hopes to keep the focus of the Codex Antimicrobial Resistance Task Force on food safety when the task force meets Gct. 20-24 in Seoul, Korea. At its inaugural meeting last fall, the task force approved work project proposals on risk assessment, risk management and risk profiling. Canada chairs the risk assessment working group, the European Union chairs the risk management group, and the United States chairs the risk profiling group (see FCNNov. 12, Page 7).
