摘要

The way in which food consumption in the USA is measured is documented. Food supply and utilization data, compiled and published annually by USDA's Economic Research Service, measure the flow of raw and semi processed food commodities through the USmarketing system. Food supply data reflect the amount of major food commodities entering the market. Data on food expenditure, share of income spent on food by families and individuals, calories available, egg consumption, meat consumption, dairy consumption, fat consumption, fruit and vegetable consumption, grain product consumption and added sugar consumption are presented.
