On a flow meter for discharge measurement in irrigation channels

摘要

Flow characteristics of a simplified constricted width flow meter are investigated in this paper. It is a very simple device, which is not only easy to construct and operate but also maintenance free. The rate of flow can be estimated for both free and submerged flow conditions. The device can find applications in measurement of discharge in irrigation channels provided in small catchments.
