摘要

Knowledge of vitreous humor concentrations of some chemical parameters is important for postmortem determination of metabolic status and on the basis of the levels found it is possible for individual to determine the eventual prevalence of metabolic disorders. This study was carried out to detect and compare the concentration (calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, phosphorus, chloride, urea nitrogen and creatinine) in vitreous humor and blood serum of 28 clinically healthy slaughtered sheep and correlation among the levels of these biochemical parameters in both of the materials. The data thus collected were analyzed statistically by ?-test and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. The vitreous humor chemical concentrations of calcium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus, urea nitrogen and creatinine were both significantly lower than serum chemical concentrations, respectively, but varied in a consistent, predictable manner. Chloride levels were the same as in serum and vitreous humour potassium levels were significantly higher than those in serum potassium. When we compare mean levels in vitreous humour with those in blood serum, the level of vitreous humor calcium was (66 %), sodium (82 %), magnesium (90 %), phosphorus (21 %), urea nitrogen (74 %) and creatinine (46 %) were also low. The mean value of chloride showed the similar level (99 %), but those of potassium (140 %) were higher than in blood. Highly significant correlation was observed between antemortem serum and postmortem vitreous urea nitrogen concentration. There was no correlation among other blood and viteous humour biochemical parameters concentrations observed. Animals used in this study manifested no clinical alterations in health status, so determined levels and ratiosamong chemical parameter concentrations might be used as the reference values that could be put to use in the postmortem diagnostics of some metabolic disorders.
