Royal Dutch Shell has made a fresh oil discovery in the prolifi c Perdido corridor in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, adding to a mounting pile of fi nds in an area already poised for medium-term production growth."Shell Offshore Inc. can confi rm a discovery at the Blacktip North exploration well in the Alaminos Canyon area of the US Gulf of Mexico,"a representative told Energy Intelligence in an email Thursday. The Blacktip North well, spudded in July , was drilled to a total depth of roughly 29,000 feet in Alaminos Canyon Block 336, directly north of a previous discovery named Blacktip. The original Blacktip was drilled in 2019 and an appraisal well confi rmed that discovery in 2020.
