Is it possible that by the end of the next decade, the sounds of our cities will have far less ramble of internal-combustion engines and far more hum of electric drives? That's the hope of a "roadmap" delivered to Natural Resources Canada minister Lisa Raitt on September 28 - that by 2018 some 500,000 of Canada's vehicles will be pow- ered by some sort of electric drive, either exclusively or primarily.
