Developing nutrition information systems in Eastern and Southern Africa. (Special Issue: Child nutrition in vulnerable populations in Eastern and Southern Africa, 2000-2006.)

This report describes the methodology and integrates the results of two Technical Working Group Meetings (Nairobi, 1-3 February and 19-21 April 2007) on the development of sustainable, country-specific nutrition information systems in the Southern African region. Considerations and recommendations on the technical issues concerning the project, including data sources and data collection, sampling methods, mortality estimation, and anthropometric indicators, are presented. Country reports based on participants' presentations are given in the Annex.
