Elliott Baxter & Co Ltd, better known in the trade as EBB, has been a major player for some years in the UK commercial print market. But, in 2014 it took on a new course by acquiring Cell Board, the Glossop based board supplier trading since 1982 and run since 2006 by Clive Townsend, Simon Woolridge and the now retired Steffan Bjorn. With the company came 800 tonnes of stock, 11 employees (including Directors) and a business that was shipping 8,000 tonnes a year for a turnover of £6m. Ironically, EBB was one of Cell's customers, which gave it a good insight into the supplier and a pre-purchase view of company synergy and business strategy.
