Komori UK's Director of Sheetfed Sales, Steve Turner, has every right to be enthusiastic about the impact Komori continues to make with its latest range of sheet fed presses in the carton market — not just in the UK but worldwide. "Thankfully, packaging is one of the very few markets which does not seem to have been affected by the economic downturn over the last few years and with the added impetus of Komori's latest developments in this field, the company has been fortunate enough to secure a very significant share of the increased investment across the sector." To illustrate, Mr Turner points to the Chesapeake Group, with particular emphasis on its purchase of new Komori equipment. At last year's drupa, Chesapeake placed an order for the new Lithrone GX 640 Carton with coater which made its world debut. The press was installed at Chesapeake's Leicester plant in England and followed four successful installations of six colour Komori Lithrone presses at its Nottingham, Leicester and Belfast operations within the previous two years.
