Off the floor: Displays help move product

Rug racks are an integral part of a specialty floor covering retailer's business, helping to exhibit rugs in an aesthetically pleasing and space-saving fashion. Some retailers and manufacturers look at display systems as frames from which to hang works of art. Others see racks as figurative clothing hangers that customers can flip through at their leisure. Shaw Living uses Kin Products' racks in its showroom and recommends the same to its customers. "The way they [Kin's racks] frame the rugs has a much more inviting feeling," said Kimberly Barta, brand manager, Shaw Living. "You don't feel like you're standing in front of a rug. It's like a piece of artwork." In addition to Kin, the company uses Universal (which keeps Shaw Living racks in stock) and Displays of Dalton for made-to-order displays.
