Despite the downturn, product designers are still charged with the task of coming up with new and beautiful colors, patterns and textures to keep those consumers who are in the market interested in the product. As designers look ahead to 2010 - and the hopes that times will improve - their views on color are surprisingly upbeat. However, everyone admits that the recession has had an impact on design trends. It's shown up the most where color is used, according to Emily Morrow, director of color, style and design for Shaw Industries.
