FCW recognizes flooring industry efforts in first-annual GreenStep Awards

The floor covering industry has demonstrated its initiative and leadership on the sustainability front for some time now. Across all categories, manufacturers of flooring products have embraced reduce, reuse and recycle tenets that form the backbone of the sustainability movement. There have been many different approaches. Many companies started small by just reducing the amount of waste to the landfill. Others have re-engineered processes to use fewer raw materials, added recycled content to products or made those products recyclable. At some companies, sustainability has become a backbone of the business.
