If the explosive growth of laminate flooring at the residential level just isn't enough, you might want to reconsider whose door you're knocking on. Many contractors are looking to commercial opportunities when it comes to specifying laminate flooring. "Architects and designers simply don't know how product is going to react after being walked on for two or three years," said Bill Becker, president of Becker Brothers, New Brighton, Minn., and member of the Floor Covering Installation Contractors Association (FCICA). "We know how it comes off a floor because we've taken it off the floor. We know what kind of furniture and traffic can go over it."
