[WILDWOOD, FLA.] In the past year, Great Lakes Carpet &Tile (No. 61) moved into a new headquarters here, hired a chief operating officer, brought in a high-level purchasing manager, and entered a new market (Orlando) with the expected purchase of a flooring retailer. So much for pulling back in a down market. "I've never worked harder in my life," said president Darren Hearns, whose three existing stores in Lady Lake, Ocala and Gainesville generated more than 20 million dollars in 2007, down from 27 million dollars in 2006.
