Chicago-area flooring dealers are confident - some might even say bullish - on their future success despite the ongoing housing slump that is buffeting their businesses today. "I'm an eternal optimist," said Steve Desitter, co-owner, DeSitter Flooring. "I believe we'll see a significant improvement within the next 12-to-18 months." While builder business for most of the six retailers present at the roundtable has decreased, custom homebuilding still exists for money to be made. "There's still money there; they're still spending," said Tom Cunningham, co-owner, De-Sitter Flooring.
