The 70 manufacturers and importers who opened their doors to the bustling New York City streets were genuinely impressed with the amount of buyers and designers who walked through - and purchased product. The Metro Rug Alliance's Metro Market Week, held September 18-22, was, in large part, a huge success. The owners and employees of the New York-based permanent showrooms were pleased - and in some cases surprised - by the week's turnout. "Our showroom is never open on Sundays, yet this week we opened early and even wrote some business on Sunday," said Michael Harounian, owner, Ebisons Harounian Imports and one of the founders of Metro Market Week.
