Idaho Chapter Holds Annual Meeting in Boise

The Idaho chapter of the American Fisheries Society held its annual meeting in Boise, Idaho, from March 1 to 4. The Aquaculture Committee organized a well-attended premeeting workshop focusing on hatchery bio-security. The plenary session was titled "Native Peoples Fisheries: Perspectives on Past, Present and Future" and was organized by the chapter's President Elect Jason Vogel. Over 300 fisheries professionals and students enjoyed a range of talks and posters from sessions including anadromous fishmanagement; chinook salmon ecology and management; steelhead ecology and management; native fish ecology; and management, education, and methods. The third annual "spawning run" enticed 50 participants and the Fundraising Committee broke new records atthe banquet, raising funds to support the chapter's many projects.
