Tamilnadu Petroproducts' net profit falls by 74% in 3Q ended Dec 2002

In 3Q fiscal 2002,ended 31 Dec 2002,the net profits of Tamilnadu Petroproducts fell 74% to Rup 23.8 M.Sales were 15% lower at Rup 1.89 bn and there was a 23% drop in operating profit to Rup 285.2 M.At Manali,Chennai,the company has an n-paraffin unit with a capacity of 62,000 tonne/y,a linear alkyl benzene (LAB) unit of 100,000 tonne/y and an epichlorohydrin facility of 10,000 tbnne/y.By Apr 2003,capacity for n-paraffin is due to be expanded to 94,000 tonne/y with a capacity increase for LAB to 120,000 tonne/y.
