Chlorine in Japan: applications for PVC dip 0.8% to 1.88 M tonnes

In 2001, Japanese demand for chlorine fell 3.9% year-on-year to 4,910,000 tonnes. Demand for chlorine for most applications was buoyant, except PVC, where demand fell 0.8% to 1,880,000 tonnes. PVC accounts for 50% of all chlorine output.
