Finland: Huber - Spherilex precipitated silica & silicates

Huber Engineered Materials (part of the JM Huber Corp group) has patented a process for making perfectly spherical precipitated silica and silicate particles and it is now building the world's first commercial-scale plant to employ this process at its Hamina site (150 km northeast along the coast from Helsinki). The plant is expected to come on-stream in 1Q 2017 and the products will be marketed globally under the brandname Spherilex.
