Clariant buys Plastichemix, boosting its Indian masterbatch capacity

Clariant Chemicals (India) Ltd, in which the Clariant group (headquartered in Muttenz, Switzerland) has a 63.4% shareholding, has completed the $21.5 M acquisition of Plastichemix Industries (headquartered in Vadodara/Baroda, India). The deal was first announced in mid-December 2013. (See also 'Focus on Pigments', Mar 2014, 6). Dr Deepak Parikh (Vice Chairman & Managing Director) said: "Our recent business developments are proof of our commitment to the growing Indian market. We believe that reinvesting in our businesses will strategically align our business goals and objectives globally. In this process, we aim to reshape our portfolio and maintain profitability in our core businesses that will benefit all stakeholders."
