Throughout the conversion from CFC-11 to HCFC-141 b and now to zero ozone depletion potential (ODP)blowing agents such as Enovate 3000 blowing agent (HFC-245fa),water and hydrocarbons,the industry has successfully used liquid blowing agents with a wide range of volatilities.The volatility of the blowing agent is one of many factors that can impact the vapour pressure of polyol preblends,foam processing and foam properties.Originally,CFC-11 was the blowing agent of choice for almost all foam applications.Formulations,processes and packages were developed to accommodate the volatility and other physical and chemical characteristics of this blowing agent.
