Ube switches to new production process for manufacturing its cyclohexanone

Ube Industries has decided to adopt a new manufacturing process for cyclohexanone at its Ube chemical factory in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, aiming to further expand its nylon 6 business. Thenew process produces cyclohexanone, which Ube uses mainly to produce caprolactam, through selective hydrogenation of phenol.
