BASF begins production of promising new plasticizer for PVC

BASF is bringing online at Ludwigshafen, Germany its new euro10 M, 25,000 tonnes/y plant for Hexamoll DINCH. BASF's estmate of potential sales for Hexamoll DINCH is euro100 M/y. The group has spent euro1 M on developing this product, a cyclohexane dicarboxylic diester, for use as a PVC plasticizer for PVC products where stablity and nontoxicity are important.
