China: Tonghua Shuanglong -precipitated silica

Construction work began in August on a new 20,000 tonnes/y precipitated silica plant for Tonghua Shuanglong Chemical Co. Investment in this project will be around Rmb 120 M (equivalent to $18 M). The location of the plant is not identified, but presumably it will be at the company's existing chemical complex in Tonghua (350 km south of the provincial capital, Jilin), established about 10 years ago. On completion of this project, Tongua Shuanglong's precipitated silica capacity will be 36,000 tonnes/y.
