Northwest Innovation Works boosting production capacity at Tacoma gas-to-methanol facility.

Northwest Innovation Works (NWIW) said it will nearly double its capital investment to $3.4 bn with plans to increase production capacity at its Port of Tacoma natural gas-to-methanol project. NWIW's is also planning a $1.8 bn natural gas-to-methanol facility in Port of Kalama, WA, US, and a $1 bn gas-to-methanol plant in Port Westward, OR. Methanol produced from the three facilities will be exported to Asia for the production of olefins. All three plants will be built in two phases.
