GCC will be the main beneficiary of Asian paper pigment demand growth

A presentation by Mr Tony Noon (Business Manager, Asia/Pacific at Imerys) at the Dalian conference (October 2007) discussed the impact of forecast growth in Asia's paper industry on the demand for pigments over the next 10-15 years. Regional production of coated paper is anticipated to pass the 25 M tonnes/y mark in 2020, which will represent a fivefold rise since 1990. Also, changes in fibre usage will have a substantial impact on pigment consumption.
