Pre-reformer - The Solution for Increasing Plant Throughput

This paper describes the applicationof pre-reformer in two decades old ammoria plant. Pre-reformer is a complete add-on unit installed to use naphtha as feedstok along with natural gas inthe rimary reformer. Pre-reformer can easily be isolated without any hindrance to the ammonia production from the rest of the anmonia plant. The experience inthe istallationof pre-reformer system at IFFCO Kalol along with benefits achieved in overall productivity of ammonia plant are discussed.
