Debotlenecking of Methanol-Water Distillation Column in Ammonia Plant

摘要

This paper focuses on problems faced in methanol-water distillation tower of Rectisol Wash Unit of Ammonia plant and the analytical approach adopted by GNFC to overcome theperformance limitations of the tower. Detailed in-house simulation study of the tower was carried out and the problem was solved by implementing simple cost effective modifications. The tower is giving excellent performance even at high load operation. This paper gives details of how problem related to performance of the coulumn(T-505)was solved.
